The editorial committee of the Journal of Environmental Health Sciences assign the given volume and page numbers to the manuscripts after peer-review. The committee decides whether or not the submitted papers of 800 words or more will be reviewed: originals, reviews, short communications, perspectives. Articles that pass this preview are then reviewed by three experts in the field. The board of editors reserves the right to edit a manuscript for phrasing, style, and overall length at any stage prior to publication, while maintaining the scientific accuracy of the manuscript. Based on comments from reviewers and editors, authors may be asked to revise their manuscript. Authors are required to submit a letter of explanation regarding how they dealt with all comments and questions raised by reviewers and editors. If revisions cannot be submitted within two weeks, author(s) may request two weeks grace period. If the revised manuscript cannot be submitted within two weeks, the submission deadline may be extended by one more week with the consent of the editorin-chief. JEHS is an open access journal. Articles are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial License (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0), which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited. To use the tables or figures of JEHS in other journals, books or media for scholarly, educational purposes, the process of permission request to the publisher of JEHS is not necessary. All contents of the journal are available immediately upon publication without embargo period.

All submitted papers are subject to fees for peer-review fee: 60,000 KRW (120,000 KRW for fast-track). All accepted papers should pay publication fee 35,000 KRW per page as in offprint (double for fast-track) and editing fee 50,000 KRW per paper. In case beyond 10-page (15-page for review articles) of offprint, overcharge (10,000 KRW per page) should be paid for the additional pages. For fast-track review, authors should submit the manuscripts at least a month before publication.
Invited articles are requested by the editorial board, and are subject to peer-review fees above. With color printing, the author should pay the actual costs.

The editorial board of JEHS have carefully examined all submitted manuscripts whether these are abided by the ethical guidelines of the ICMJE and COPE. The published articles have involved the statements of conflict of interest, institutional review board, informed consent, and human/animal rights.

When the Journal faces suspected cases of research and publication misconduct such as a redundant (duplicate) publication, plagiarism, fabricated data, changes in authorship, undisclosed conflicts of interest, an ethical problem discovered with the submitted manuscript, a reviewer who has appropriated an author’s idea or data, complaints against editors, and other issues, the resolving process will follow the flowchart provided by the COPE (http://publicationethics.org/resources/flowcharts). The editorial board of JEHS will discuss the suspected cases and reach a decision. JEHS will not hesitate to publish errata, corrigenda, clarifications, retractions, and apologies when needed.

Full text of JEHS has been archived in National Library of Korea (http://www.nl.go.kr). According to the deposit policy (self-archiving policy) of Authors can archive publisher's version/PDF. JEHS provides the electronic backup and preservation of access to the journal content in the event the journal is no longer published by archiving in National Library of Korea.

Revenue sources of journal are from the support of publisher (The Korean Society of Environmental Health).

Journal propagation has been done through the journal web site and distribution of an introduction pamphlet. Invitations to submit a manuscript are usually focused on the presenters at conferences, seminars, or workshops if the topic is related to the journal's aims and scope.
